Mo'jive FAQs
What is Mo'jive?
Mo'jive is a fusion of jive and latin dance styles, great fun and easy to learn. Modern jive is one of the most popular forms of partner dancing in the UK today. More than just a dance class, it's a great social night out too!
Do I need a partner?
It's not necessary to bring a partner because the classes are organised in such a way that you'll dance with many different partners throughout the evening. But if you want to bring a partner or a group of friends, do!
Is it necessary to book in advance?
Mo'jive isn't run as a course, so there's no booking or enrolling to be done. You simply turn up, whenever or wherever you like. Every week a number of complete beginners turn up, hence we always run a beginners class.
Do I have to become a member?
At present we do not require you to become a member.
Who can attend a Mo'jive night?
Complete beginners, people with two left feet, in fact practically anyone aged 18 or over who's reasonably fit can attend a Mo'jive night. If you're unsure about your fitness please consult your GP.
What should I wear?
There's no need to buy any specialised dancewear or shoes. When things hot up it's best to wear clothing that's fairly light which allows you to move freely, and shoes with a non-grippy sole that allow you to turn, spin and move around easily on the dance floor.
What kind of music is played?
The music played on a Mo'jive night is carefully chosen so that it's the right beat to dance to, and it's a fantastic, uplifting selection covering many different styles and eras. From Santana to Sinatra, from the Freemasons to the Four Tops...
What does it cost?
The £6.00 admission fee is for the whole evening, and includes the beginner class, the intermediate class (or beginners coaching session) and the freestyle session, representing excellent value for money.
